But it was promising, cheap and new in 2023. Took the risk to invest building here.

None of atproto’s “plurality of apps” have built on those foundations and custom feeds isn’t considered a part of the protocol which is disappointing.

I come from the crypto/cypherpunk/web3 adjacent worlds. In 2023 I was 10 years in those ecosystems.
From those learnings I knew atproto had all the right uses of cryptography with none of the things people grew to hate.

Why did you decide to bet on atproto over Mastodon or similar?
Hot take: Closing your Bluesky account shouldn't delete your DID or PDS. It should clear out the Bluesky lexicon data, then facilitate migration to another PDS with some user education across the flow.
